Networking and hosting

Rubens had an unrivalled flair for entrepreneurship. By 1620, he was the greatest painter in North-Western Europe.  Fortunately, he had a carefully selected team of assistants.  In his garden, he welcomed important guests and clients for an informal chat, surrounded by the scents of exotic orange and lime trees. Rubens networked at home in his green paradise.

Overview

Host your guests in Rubens' boundless fantasy setting! An overview of all areas of the Rubenshuis where you can host your event, whether or not in combination with a guided tour or a personalised visit.

Host your guests in a modern-day city palace designed by Robbrecht and Daem architects. Rubens was a fan of progressive architecture.  If you look closely, you'll immediately recognise the artist's hand. You will see what Rubens was like as a person, but also who he might be today.

Stroll with your guests through Rubens' garden, among 17,500 flowers, plants and trees. The colour advice by Dries Van Noten also adds a variety of hues to the garden every season, creating an oasis in the heart of Antwerp. From the garden, you have a view of Rubens's Italianate palazzo in the city.

This is where technological marvels will immerse you in Rubens' universe. Who was the real Rubens? The artist and the man behind the brush. And why do people love him so much?

Rubens loved young talent. In the work place, young artists experiment with Rubens' ideas in a unique setting, by invitation. They work in situ, creating and inspiring.

With thousands of publications, old books and archive documents, this is where fiction meets reality. In the library's endless collection, curiosity is transformed into exhilaration. From here, you have a superb view of the garden and the residence.

This building, behind the garden of the Rubenshuis, was the base of the Antwerp Guild of Crossbowmen in the 17th century. Members of this local guild gathered here to practise shooting and relax. As their neighbour, Rubens often got together with the guild around a table. The Crossbowmen were masterful hosts.
