Catherine Van Herck collection 

Catherine Van Herck (1954-2021) was a renowned conservator. To get a glimpse of her working methods, browse through her material-technical reports of artworks in public collections. 

The restoration files were carefully prepared between 1980 and 2018 by Van Herck - co-founder of the well-known Antwerp art gallery Van Herck-Eyckelberg. Shortly before her death, she bequeathed the collection to the Rubenshuis, to safeguard her paper legacy. Works by Peter Paul Rubens, Anthony Van Dyck, Jacques Jordaens, Frans Hals, Jan Bruegel de Oude and Pieter Bruegel the Younger, among others, are featured in this special sub-collection.
