The Rubenshuis is more than a museum. Because Rubens was more than a painter. The museum is undergoing a radical transformation. The universe of the idiosyncratic artist will be given more breathing space. The renovation and reopening will take place in phases. The historical artist's residence is temporarily closed for restoration. Rubens Experience, the library and the garden are already buzzing with activity. Get to know the renovated Rubenshuis.

Three highlights from our collection will temporarily be on loan to some of the world’s most visited museums. ‘The Gallery of Cornelis van der Geest’, the decorative silver ewer and basin from Rubens’s own collection, and Anthony van Dyck’s ‘Self-Portrait’ will travel to the Kunsthistorisches Museum (Vienna), the Victoria & Albert Museum (London), and the Palazzo Ducale (Genoa) respectively.
