Spring in Rubens' garden
Spring in Rubens' garden has begun: the lapwing flowers, imperial crowns, anemones and spring bells are in bloom. The very first tulips can also be seen. The garden is changing every day now. Rubenshuis celebrates spring with a season full of outdoor activities and a tulip festival on Saturday 5 April.
For the first time, you can see spring budding in Rubens' garden. Currently, stately imperial crowns, speckled lapwing flowers, fiery red anemones, yellow and purple primroses and white springbells are in bloom. The very first tulips can also be seen. Until about mid-May, they grow in turns: from elegant white, bright yellow or orange-red tulips to rare flamed and striped tulips. All with special names such as the Tulipa ‘Black and White’, ‘Absalon’, ‘Bacchus’, ‘Bronze Charm’, ‘Little Princes’ or ‘Rubens broken’.
A season full of outdoor activities
Celebrate spring and enjoy the explosion of colours. During the activities, discover new stories about a profitable and illegal trade in tulip bulbs 200 metres from Rubens' front door. Or unwind in this green oasis in the heart of Antwerp.
