Four times a year, the Rubenshuis opens its doors for an exclusive Friday night: The Cabinet Sessions. Step into Rubens’ private cabinet and experience the Rubenshuis like never before. On 7 March, artist platform B-Classic, visual artist Bertrand Desmaricaux and Instagram sensation The Gaze will set the stage for a spectacular first edition.

Musical connector B-Classic presents a bold programme of live music. Cellist Benjamin Glorieux, guitarist Tim Finoulst, pianist Maarten Lingier and bassist Martijn Vanbuel join forces for a one-of-a-kind performance.

Each year, the Rubenshuis entrusts The Cabinet Sessions to an inspiring curator. In 2025, B-Classic will immerse visitors in their world. B-Classic bridges the gap between artists, genres, and audiences, redefining classical music and exploring how it is created and experienced, both past and present. With an open-minded approach, B-Classic provides artists with the space to create, experiment, and perform.

The Antwerp-based creator demystifies artworks in an accessible way on social media. You can watch him live in action during The Cabinet Sessions as he unveils the hidden secrets of a masterpiece from the Rubenshuis collection. Curious about his story?

Always wanted to explore Rubens’ garden by moonlight? Join a guided speed tour by torchlight and discover the garden’s highlights. Enjoy a cup of exclusive herbal tea inspired by the garden’s own plant selection at the end of your stroll.

Belgian painter Bertrand Desmaricaux creates striking portraits of well-known and lesserknown figures. His colourful oil paintings and pen drawings capture the soul of his subjects in an intimate way. During this hands-on session, Desmaricaux will teach you how to create a portrait from scratch. Take a seat at the drawing table during The Cabinet Sessions and uncover your hidden talent for portrait sketching.

Ongoing from 19:00 to 23:00

Wander through the rooms of the Rubens Experience and uncover hidden gems in the library. Step out into the garden or grab a drink at the bar. And let yourself be carried away by a vibrant DJ set!
