Rubens House | Classical Mythology

Your guide will provide an introduction to classical mythology in the courtyard of the Rubens House. Rubens purchased this house when he moved back to Antwerp after having spent eight years in Italy. He was inspired by antique architecture and the classical mythology which he learnt about in Italy for the renovation of the house.

Restoration of portico and garden pavilion completed

The imposing portico and garden pavilion at the Rubens House can now be viewed again by the public. After a year and a half, their restoration is complete. Rubens designed both features himself, making them rare evidence of Rubens as an architect.
