Rubens’s restored Self-Portrait is back in the Rubens House in Antwerp after an absence of more than a year. Rubens returns our gaze, with a blush on his cheeks and sensuous red lips.

Your guide will provide an introduction to classical mythology in the courtyard of the Rubens House. Rubens purchased this house when he moved back to Antwerp after having spent eight years in Italy. He was inspired by antique architecture and the classical mythology which he learnt about in Italy for the renovation of the house.
