Courtyard and portico

Step into Rubens's world through the main portico, which gives out on to the elegant courtyard. The portico connects the house and studio and also served as a magnificent gateway to the garden.

The studio

Rubens had a well-organised studio with several assistants. They worked in Rubens's style allowing him to complete the many commissions he received on time thanks to them.

Garden and pergola

One of the most beautiful spots in Rubens's house is the garden. The garden is a reconstruction of the garden that Rubens would have envisaged.
